This nice yellow gelding has been one of our fulltime using horses out here on the ranch, for the last 18 months. There isn’t anything he has not seen or done. We have turned big circles on the river and in the roughest country you can find, and have run down and roped the wildest cattle on it. He as drug calves to the branding fire, as well as ponyed colts in our colt starting program. He has been packed and rode in the Pecos wilderness. He has been roped on some in the arena as a head horse, but needs a good horseman to help him rate and turn good.
To be honest about him as a trainer, he was pretty cold back if you let him stand around for a month, but most of that has worked it way out. With a little warm-up, to get him to bend and flex, he will ride off and work all day. He needs a kind and confident rider to help him deal with his introverted nature. When you treat him right he is a willing and very valuable partner to get a days work done.
At his age, breeding, and size he has a lot of potential, for someone who needs an every day using horse that has a job for him. He is sound and solid on his legs and feet. A lot of hard work can be done on a good gelding like this one. Come see for yourself.
